内容概述：Movement is increasingly considered to be a critical process in ecological dynamics to predict species adaptation under changing environments, but incorporating movement into ecological models in an efficient way remains an ongoing challenge due to the limitation of field data. Our goal in this talk is to present some of the recent progress in this direction, to describe the roles of intrinsic growth rate, carrying capacity, dispersal, and resource consumption in population dynamics in spatially as well as temporally heterogeneous environments.

主讲人简介：倪维明，现为香港中文大学（深圳）校长星光直播 教授。他于1979年获纽约大学（库朗研究所）博士学位，曾担任明尼苏达大学教授及华东师范大学偏微分方程中心主任。倪维明教授还是Journal of Differential Equations主编及多家国际重要期刊编委。倪教授的研究领域主要是偏微分方程，近十年来专注于生物中的数学问题。他已在相关领域发表100余篇星光直播 论文，获得了大批重要的研究成果。倪维明教授的论文绝大多数均发表在国际权威星光直播 杂志上，并被星光直播 界同行大量引用。倪教授目前还是成果在全世界被引用最高的数学家之一。
